If you’re ever in Tuscany, put a cooking class at Tenuta Torciano Winery at the top of your list. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip!

Simone was an amazing instructor—patient, funny, and somehow able to convince us that making homemade pasta was something we could actually do. With his guidance, we prepared fresh pasta, pork tenderloin with broccoli rabe, and a tiramisu that we were pretty proud of.

The best part? Steve paid attention! So much so that after we got home, he surprised me by recreating the tiramisu. Apparently, Tuscany turned him into quite the chef.

Once the cooking was done, we enjoyed the dinner we had prepared while being serenaded by an entertaining sommelier who grew up on a vineyard and shared stories and wine knowledge that made every sip even better. We sampled multiple wines, olive oils, and truffle oils… and because we were the only guests that afternoon, he eventually left us alone with all of it.

I’m still not sure if that was confidence… or a really bold business decision.  Fortunately, I was driving back to our vineyard, so Steve was free to fully embrace the experience.

It was the perfect way to spend our final evening in Tuscany—great food, incredible wine, lots of laughs, and memories we’ll be talking about for years. The only thing that would’ve made it better is if Tuscany had given us just one more day.
